Neighbour poured cement down drain to cause blockage?

I’m not sure where to post this question but they can’t just get away with this can they?

This action caused toilet waste, raw sewage, effluent; to pour out onto my garden.

Who can I report this to?

Well the police for one because this sounds like damage to property with intent.

Either that or they are just bloody stupid.

  2. Fredrick Wall Said:

now did you do somehting to upset them……

i’d try the council or police, and contacting the sewage people to sort that out yurk

  3. Marlen Seymour Said:

the police, that definately isn’t fair, poor you.

  4. Iyana Hassan Said:

To start with, lodge a complaint asap in your local police station

  5. Jordyn Saunderson Said:

Report it to the police, it must be criminal damage??

  6. Emily Wheatley Said:

You would have to be able to prove your allegation. If you can do this then notify your authorities and file vandalism.

  7. Eugene Andrews Said:

Damage to propert is vandalism so should be reprted to the police. Could also br reprted to the Environment agency ( local council dept) as they are resposible for Drains and High ways I think, so if it got into theirs it will cause problems. If it is not heir responsibilty it will be the local Waterboard.

Having said that they may tell you that amything within the buildings boundary is your responsibilty and turn a blind eye.

  8. Rishi Hague Said:

The police first of all as this is criminal damage to public and private property….you need evidence who did it.
The council for clearing it up
The water board for damage to their property.

  9. Kassidy Clifford Said:

Police. City building or health departments.

  10. Liana Southworth Said:

    the local council for starters

    is he stupid or what?

  11. Megan Senior Said:

the council will be very interested to hear what you have to say

  12. Beatrice Montgomery Said:

i think you know to go to the police by now . what kind of neighbous do you have ? man !

  13. Marissa Beasley Said:

If you UK, then it’s a job for Environmental Health/local council, then the landlord. THEN a solicitor. It’s a private matter.

I’d call the A team. Although don’t anticipate too eargerly B.A. arriving because he’s scared of flying – and may have to be tricked by a thinly veiled plot involving two Nytol tablets.

Alternatively call the Water Board and get it repaired and letter stating the cause etc… then sue the b*st*rd who did it!

  15. Carlos Sedgwick Said:

If they poured the cement down your drain, then it’s probably criminal damage.

If they poured it into their own drain, then it’s a civil action for Nuisance (i.e. sue them). This might be covered under your house insurance policy.

You should contact your house insurance company, the council, and possible the police.

  16. Dorian 36 Said:

Drains are the property and responsibility of your local Council I imagine – report it to them. If you have proof that it was your neighbour then give it to the council as I expect it will cost them a great deal to sort out and they will quite probably want to prosecute for criminal damage. You poor thing – even if you had annoyed your neighbour hugely or something (and I don’t know whether you have or not) this is still a very vicious thing to do. You may also be able to charge the neighbour for any costs incurred by your having to clean up the mess.

I hope you manage to get it sorted out.

  17. Helena Savage Said:

Its criminal damage if they did it deliberatly.

If they did it through stupidity then it is negligence and you can sue for the damage caused.

So Police or a no win no fee lawyer you choose

  18. Elaina Stratton Said:

The Police and also your local authority and the waterboard would all have a interest in this idiots activities.

  19. Sonny Rush Said:

yes criminal damage. if it was diliberate!!!

  20. Malik Adam Said:

Why didn’t you call the police when you saw them doing this?

Or grab your camera and get a photo?

Or get the cement out while it was still wet and could be scooped out?

  21. Ross Peel Said:

I woiuld report him to the Policy it is criminal damage – dont let him get away with it as he will just keep doing it
