Points to solve that stopped drainage issue

What can you do if you are stuck with a clogged up drainpipe? Well the easiest way to unclog your bathroom drainpipe is to use a drains pipes plunger. Using a drains pipes plunger is relatively simple to do. What you don’t want to do however is to vigorously pump up and down like a jack hammer. Place the cup of the plunger exactly over the drainpipe and push it downwards and upwards with short sharp movements that generate suction within the drain pipe and pipe. The suction created when the plunger is pulled up will hopefully dislodge the material clogging the toilet, tub or sink in your bathroom. Note that some tubs and sinks are fitted with overspill holes that must be closed with a sponge or wet towel before proceeding with the plunger.

You can also use chemical cleaners you can buy in the shops to unclog your drain pipe, these uses certain chemicals to open up the blockage in the drainage. First attempt to clear the drain with a plunger, only then should you try the chemical solutions as they can be hazardous for the novice. Run the chemical into the drainpipe and allow it to work for about 30 minutes before flushing the drainpipe with hot water. Because these chemicals can be corrosive or contain bleach you should only wear clothes that you are happy to be damaged. And since plunging can throw water in any direction you might want to consider eye-wear in order to protect you from any chemicals. To avoid unwarranted issues from creeping up, follow the manufacturers instructions ardently.

If the plunger does not work, try detaching the drain pipe trap by removing the bolts with suitable tools. Now this is going to get messy so be prepared with a towel and bucket to clean up the mess. If you dont want to destroy the chrome finish of your pipes, then wrap the jaws of the pipe wrench with the electric tape; this will also help you to get a better grip. You will be able to check the waste pipes P-trap for any blockages in the pipe opening after you remove it. If, however you cannot find any solid materials the problem is probably harder to get to, between the trap and the soil stack deep in the drains pipes pipework.

A deep clog in the toilet can be loosened by a toilet auger. With a bathtub or sink, however a drainpipe snake should be used. Because of their size and length, drain pipe snakes are well designed for getting at obstructions in small spaces in difficult to reach places. By turning the handle to dig into the blockage, you can bring the blockage up and away from the drainpipe. After removing the blockage, reassemble the P-trap and let hot water flow into the drain pipe to double check it works properly. Make sure that all the connections are properly fitted and sealed, and also check the P-trap for leakages.

If all the above enlisted methods fail to unclog your bathroom drain, then you should call a professional waste pipes contractor. There are some incidents that cannot be solved by the common householder such as clogs in the soil stack or the sewer service near tree roots or even a broken pipe caused by age or pipe corrosion brought upon by nature or some “mysterious reason”, at these times contact a good waste pipes engineer.
